Director, Africa in Belmont, MA to serve as economic and business
development specialist for international consulting firm focused on competitive
economic development and export product strategy in emerging markets and developing
countries, with primary responsibility for selling, managing and coordinating
multi-disciplinary projects in African region; Advise clients, including government
and private sector industry leaders and private corporations, on issues of economic
development, innovation, competitiveness, and global business and export strategy;
Analyze economic phenomena and data in specialized business sectors including
the pharmaceutical, telecommunications, health care and other industries; Work
with clients on a countrywide basis to formulate and present recommendations to
address economic and market issues, mobilize cluster and national competitiveness
strategies, attain cooperation between private and public sector business partners
including donor agencies such as USAID/World Bank, and implement economic plans
to maximize operational performance; Oversee and foster the professional development
of 10-12 consultants; Engage in publication of articles and public speaking at
industry conferences; Facilitate large-scale meetings to groups of over 100 people;
Apply knowledge of business, economics, customer segmentation, marketing, competitive
strategy, and technology. Must be willing to travel 95% outside U.S.
Minimum Requirements:
Master’s degree in Business Administration, International Business or
related field, or the foreign equivalent, and three years of experience in the
occupation or in a related occupation. Qualifying professional experience may
be pre or post degree and must include experience, which can be gained concurrently,
as follows:
(a) 2 years of economic development and strategy consulting experience with
clients in the private and public sectors in developing nations, including experience
working in African nations with donor agencies such as USAID/World Bank and
government leaders
and; (b) experience in managing complex consulting projects from inception
through implementation; 40 hours per week, M-F 8:00 a.m.– 5:00 p.m. $140,000.00
per year.
